About the plant
Adenium arabicum 'Black Panther' brings together three of the most sought-after traits in the hobby in one line — dark skin, a heavy caudex, and dense branch structure. The dark-skinned arabicums are some of the most in-demand material out there, and starting from seed is how you end up with a plant that's yours from the ground up.
Growing it in Zone 6 — and anywhere cold
I've grown arabicum in Northern Kentucky for over 30 years, and Black Panther wants the same setup as the rest: warmth, strong light, and a fast-draining inorganic mix. Give the seed bottom heat to germinate, keep young seedlings warm and bright through their first winter indoors, and go easy on the water while they establish.
