About the plant
Adenium arabicum 'Brazilian' is bred for maximum caudex development — a broad, heavy base that anchors a serious specimen. Starting from seed is how you get to shape that caudex from the first repotting, and it's why growers who care about the base grow this line from scratch rather than buying it finished.
Growing it in Zone 6 — and anywhere cold
I've grown arabicum in Northern Kentucky for over 30 years, and Brazilian wants the standard arabicum setup: warmth, strong light, and a fast-draining inorganic mix. Give the seed bottom heat to germinate, keep young seedlings warm and bright through their first winter indoors, and go easy on the water while they establish.
What you'll need to grow these
Seeds are only half the equation — germination comes down to the setup. Here's what I use:
- Desert Oasis Potting Media — the fast-draining inorganic mix I built for Adenium, Plumeria, and caudex seedlings once they're up and potted on.
- Luxbird Seed Germinator & Propagation Kit — bottom heat and a humidity dome, the two things that push germination rates up.
- 5×5 Germination Tray — sized for clean single-variety sowing so nothing gets crossed up.

Who you're buying from
I'm Michael White — ISA Certified Arborist (KY-0847A), Kentucky Master Gardener, and a U.S. Navy veteran who's grown Adenium, Plumeria, and Pachypodium in Zone 6 Northern Kentucky for over 30 years. Every seed lot I sell is stock I'd sow on my own bench, packed fresh with the germination instructions I use myself. American Adenium ships within the United States.
